Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to take over the operational management of our "Atlas" BI infrastructure. Your primary mission is to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud-based data warehouse and ETL pipelines. While we have established dashboards, your focus will be "under the hood"—maintaining the engine that powers our corporate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• ETL & Pipeline Management: Proactive monitoring of Matillion workflows to ensure data is processed accurately and on time.

• Infrastructure Reliability: Maintaining the health of the Amazon Redshift cluster and AWS EC2 instances, including resizing based on workload and managing S3 storage.

• Incident Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving connectivity issues, SQL errors, or transformation failures within the AWS ecosystem.

• Security & Compliance: Managing IAM roles, S3 bucket permissions, and API credentials to maintain a secure data environment.

• Technical Documentation: Keeping infrastructure diagrams and incident playbooks up to date to ensure long-term platform knowledge.

• Dashboard Support: Performing basic maintenance on existing Power BI datasets and report filters only when necessary to ensure visual consistency.

Your Profile

• Backend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Redshift, S3, EC2), SQL and DWH.

• ETL Tools: Experience with Matillion or similar cloud-native orchestration tools.

• Operational Mindset: Disciplined approach to monitoring, backups, and security best practices.

• Pragmatism: Ability to maintain existing Power BI structures without the need for constant redesign.

• Communication: Capable of coordinating with IT for network security and internal stakeholders for data integrity.
